Are You Bored?

Confession: I’m bored.

During one of my regular 4PC meetings with other high-level coaches and after listening to my coaching colleague and good friend, Mandy Lehto’s podcast about “bore-out” (link to podcast below), I had the epiphany that I’M BORED!

Confirming that the brain-based emotional management technique, “Name it to tame it” works, once I identified that I’ve been feeling bored, I immediately felt freer and actually excited again!

You see, things with me have been fine.

Like Mandy and her guests discuss in the podcast, things being fine can be quite detrimental.

Things being fine leads to going through the motions, status quo, disengagement, lack of motivation, and you guessed it…boredom.

I know that I’ve been feeling a bit BLAH lately, and I didn’t know why.

Once I identified that I have been bored, it allowed me to examine why I have been bored.

Naming the boredom was liberating because it allowed me to have some self-compassion; nothing is wrong with me!

I just needed to remember what it is that stimulates me and do more of it.

I realized that I miss CREATING, TEACHING, and SHARING my passions and ideas out into the world. Those are things that stimulate my mind and stoke positive feelings.

Creating transformational programs and courses about personal and professional development lights me up. It gives me a lot of joy, meaning, and fulfillment.

I have a renewed sense of excitement now and am ready to unbore myself.

Watch this space for some amazing upcoming programs I’m going to create like a Mentor Coaching Program, a How To Coach Each Enneagram Type program, a Neuroscience of Trigger Management Program, and of course I’m gearing up to go back to the south of France in September to run two retreats: The Coaches Retreat and the Personal Development Retreat.

What about you?

Take a moment to be honest with yourself.

Are you bored?

Are things in your life and work just fine?

If you are bored, how can you unbore yourself?

What would you love to create that would give you back that stimulation, engagement, motivation, meaning, purpose, and fulfillment?

If you’re ready to unbore yourself and create the next amazing chapter of your life, business, or career, then you and I should talk.
